The final of two worlds: Sinner vs. Alcaraz, Wimbledon seeks its king.

London, 13 July 2025 – Two worlds Completely different this afternoon (5pm live on TV8 and Sky) will compete for the 2025 Wimbledon tournament. Jannik Sinner was born at the foot of the Sesto Dolomites, a mountain range between the provinces of Bolzano and Belluno, in August 2001. Carlos Alcaraz 's cradle, on the other hand, rocked 40 kilometres from the coast of southern Europe overlooking the Mediterranean in 2003. Despite the two having opposite characters on the outside, both are extremely reserved even if the label of anti-star par excellence goes to the South Tyrolean.
FamilyHans Peter and Sieglinde Sinner had resigned themselves to the idea of never having children, so they began the process of adopting Mark. Then, when the matter seemed definitively closed, Jannik arrived naturally. Former tennis player Carlos Sr. Alcaraz married Virginia Garfia Escandóne , and from this marriage they had four children: Álvaro, Carlos Jr., Sergio, and Jaime. Interestingly, both fathers now work as restaurateurs.
BeginningsAlcaraz began playing at the age of three at his father's tennis school , inspired by Nadal , and by the age of ten he was already regional under-10 champion. In 2011, Jannik was accompanied by his parents for the first time to the Heribert Mayr and Andrea Spizzica Academy in Sesto Pusteria . His parents handed the boy over to Mayr with this instruction: "This is the boy, you do the job," then disappeared until the end of the lesson.
RivalryIn 2019, during his international debut, Sinner achieved a 16-match winning streak. His first defeat came in his seventeenth match at the Alicante Challenger against Alcaraz . Since then, a rivalry has begun that has seen the Spaniard lead 8-4 in his previous 12 matches.
RelationsA complicated topic for both of them. Jannik's relationship with Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya ended, and several rumors, which he promptly denied, attributed him to an engagement to Danish model Laila Hasanovic. Alcaraz has been romantically linked to French tennis player Lola Marandel several times, but even then he himself denied any relationship, declaring himself single, partly because he's constantly traveling the world.
DietTo get the right amount of protein and carbohydrates needed for healthy joints and muscles, Sinner relies on chicken and pasta with tomato sauce , while Alcaraz consumes large quantities of rice, fish, and dates . Before the race, Carlos prefers cocoa cream to supplements to replenish his energy.
RacketsWith their 16 main strings and 19 cross strings, the racquets used by Jannik have fewer strings than those of his opponents. Alcaraz, on the other hand, plays with the traditional racquet made up of 18 main strings and 20 cross strings . Furthermore, Jannik only uses synthetic monofilament strings pulled to a tension of 28 kg . In this case too, Carlos is more traditional, using filaments that are a mix between synthetic and natural gut and which are pulled to 24 kg .
PassionsDuring his three-month suspension, Jannik has competed in a wide variety of sports, from skiing to motorsports and even ping pong, proving himself to be a well-rounded athlete. Alcaraz, on the other hand, seems much more laid-back in his free time. He mainly engages in puzzles and chess to improve his concentration.
MoneyGive or take a little, Sinner earned 42 million euros from tennis , while Alcaraz stopped at 38. Whoever wins today takes home 3.5 million euros , whoever loses gets exactly half.
BallCarlos is a die-hard Real Madrid fan, while Jannik's heart beats for Milan .
