The Faedis-Canebolava time trial goes to Riccardo Sterni and Giulia Trombetta
Riccardo Sterni (Daytona) and Giulia Trombetta (Julian Prealps) won the Faedis-Canebola, a 7.8-kilometer time trial featuring a 480-meter elevation gain on asphalt. The two athletes completed the distance in 32:10 and 38:07, thus winning the overall standings of the race organized by Atletica Buja Treppo Grande, which also served as the penultimate stage of the Trofeo Friuli. Sterni dominated the men's race, edging out Fabio Stefanutti (Atletica Buja, 32:28) by 18 seconds and Marco Burello (Atletica Monfalcone, 32:45) by 35 seconds. Among the women, Trombetta left Marina Paveglio (Atletica Dolomiti Friulane) behind, second at 24'' (38'31'') and Mariangela Stringaro (Keep Moving), third at 1'04'' (39'11'').
Among the entrants to the Trophy, organized by the Udine Provincial Committee of the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL), the overall standings were won by Stefanutti and Trombetta. Stefanutti beat Matteo Monai (Piani di Vas, 35:06) and local athlete Augusto Senerchia (Atletica Buja, 35:16). Trombetta finished ahead of Mariangela Stringaro and Micaela Bonessi (MostroRun, 40:27). A total of 209 runners took part in the time trial, including 150 registered for the Trophy. The so-called "daily runners" also showed excellent participation (59 at the start, the best result of the Trophy events). The running circuit is nearing its conclusion. The final stage is scheduled for Sunday, November 16th in Reana del Rojale: the "Trofeo Sorella Ramonda," a 10.34 km road race. The Friuli Trophy awards ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 4th at the Balducci Center Auditorium in Piazza della Chiesa in Zugliano.
