Tennis, anticipation grows for the WTA Palermo: wild cards will be announced on Thursday.

Anticipation is growing for the 36th edition of the Palermo Ladies Open, a WTA 125 tournament scheduled for July 19-27 at the Country Time Club.

So far, over 5,000 tickets have been sold for the entire event, which will bring top-level women's tennis back to Sicily. On Thursday, at 11 a.m., club president Giorgio Cammarata and tournament director Oliviero Palma will announce the wild cards during a press conference at the Country Club on Viale dell'Olimpo: four for the main draw, two for the qualifiers, and one for the doubles. Giorgia Pedone will also be present at the press conference. The 20-year-old tennis player from Palermo, ranked 209 in the world (with a career-high ranking of 183), will be at the Country Club this afternoon to train for the tournament.
