The Italian tennis player challenges the Polish player in the Bad Homburg semi-final

Jasmine Paolini is back on the court. The Italian tennis player will challenge Polish Iga Swiatek, former world number one and currently eighth in the WTA ranking, in the semifinal of the Bad Homburg tournament today, Friday 27 June. Paolini beat Brazilian Beatriz Haddad-Maia in two sets in the quarterfinals, while Swiatek overcame Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova. Jasmine, world number four, aims to reach the final in one of the preparatory tournaments for Wimbledon, a Slam that will be played, starting next 30 June, on the London grass.

Swiatek-Paolini, time and precedents

The challenge between Swiatek and Paolini is scheduled for today, Friday 27 June, at 13:00. The two have faced each other in five previous matches, all won by the Polish player, who therefore leads with a clear partial score of 5-0. The last challenge dates back to the World League Tennis exhibition tournament in the United Arab Emirates, where last December Paolini was forced to retire due to injury after losing the first set.
