Juve, Rugani is still there. Recycled or just passing through? America will tell

Juve, Rugani is still there. Recycled or just passing through? America will tell

Juve's first reinforcement in defense is already at home. Daniele Rugani, after a year on loan at Ajax , returned to Turin and found a completely different scenario from the one he left last summer. Thiago Motta had left him out of the plans, Igor Tudor instead considers him a valid piece to take into consideration in the construction of the defense. The thirty-year-old Tuscan knows the Juve environment inside out and has experienced it in the last winning cycle, he would have all the credentials to act as a mother hen for the youngsters and give balance to a department that needs a few more references.

For the club, Rugani is a potential "yes". Giuntoli had secured him a few months before the expiry date by extending his contract until 2026 and significantly reducing his salary. The exclusion for technical reasons had ruined the initial plan, which Comolli could now take back into his hands: the player has kept up a good pace during the season in Holland, taking the field on 26 occasions between the league and cups and also scoring a goal. Upon his return a few days ago, before being called up to the national team, he was welcomed back with great affection by CEO Maurizio Scanavino and his former teammate Giorgio Chiellini, now an increasingly central manager to kick off a new winning cycle for Juve.

Rugani is strongly tied to Turin, to the city. A few years ago he decided to live there with his family, regardless of what his future in football would be. Tudor and Juve find a decidedly more mature player, who has grown both on a human and technical level after his experience at Ajax. Daniele is also living with serenity some rumours that touch on his personal and family sphere , remaining focused on his work on the pitch: at Continassa he is indicated as one of the players who have been most appreciated in the days leading up to the World Cup, leaving one to imagine that he could be among the protagonists of the expedition to the United States for the desire to demonstrate that he can still be a Juve player. Even if in the meantime several Serie A clubs have moved on his trail: Genoa and Sassuolo above all.
