Ischia Calcio: Alessio Martino is the new coach of the yellow and blues

There is a new helmsman on the bench of Ischia Calcio. The island club has made official the arrival of Alessio Martino as the new coach of the first team, as Il Dispari announced weeks ago. A name that brings with it experience, passion and a never-ending hunger for football, matured in over a decade on the fields of amateur and semi-professional Italian football.

Born in 1982, originally from Casagiove (CE), Martino embraced the profession of coach after hanging up his boots at the age of 31, due to an injury that prematurely interrupted his career as a footballer. But that setback turned into a new beginning: thirteen years ago, from Virtus Goti in the First Category, he began to build his own path on the bench with determination.

The turning point came five years later, with his arrival at Gelbison in Serie D, followed by positive experiences with Gladiator and Termoli , where he achieved two fundamental salvations in the fourth national series. Not only Serie D: Martino also left his mark in Eccellenza , leading Eclanese for three seasons, demonstrating his ability to work with limited resources but clear and concrete ideas.

Last year he took a break from the field to focus on training, obtaining the prestigious UEFA A License at Coverciano, which now allows him to coach in professional leagues. An investment in himself that demonstrates ambition and desire to grow.

Now the call from Ischia , an ambitious project in a hot, passionate and hungry place for real football. For Martino it is a new challenge on an island that dreams big. He will lead the yellow and blues next season, with the aim of bringing enthusiasm and results back to the “Mazzella”.

The island club thus entrusts its bench to a coach who is prepared, motivated and eager to leave his mark. Ischia's summer begins with a new name on the bench, but with the eternal promise of giving emotions to its fans.
