Igor Protti is fighting a serious illness: «It's a very tough match, but I'll give it my all»

Igor Protti is facing a difficult battle. The former Bari striker, one of the most beloved players in the club's recent history, announced on social media that he has been struck by a serious illness. Hospitalized, he underwent an initial surgical operation and is now preparing to face a cycle of treatments that will accompany him for the next few months, in view of a possible second operation.

"It's a very tough match," Protti wrote, "I know very well that you can win or lose, but I'll give it my all as always." Words that have not left fans, friends and football enthusiasts indifferent, who are making their closeness felt to a man who has always fought on the field with courage and dignity.

Protti wanted to thank the medical staff who are following him, his family and all those who are showing him affection: «Just like when I was on the pitch and I felt part of a large community, today I feel the closeness of all the people who loved me».
