Cycling, the long-awaited Paolo Baicchi Memorial is underway in Calenzano

Calenzano (Florence), 26 February 2025 - Cycling is on Sunday 9 March on the “Circuito degli Assi” in Calenzano where the 4th Paolo Baicchi Memorial will take place, the event, organised by Pol. Virtus VII Miglio di Settimello of President Paolo Traversi, which will remember a great friend of cycling like Paolo Baicchi . Paolo was a historic sponsor of Tuscan cycling first with the Pistoia Casini team then with the Team Valdarno Woman, a professional women's team and finally in recent years with the Valdarno junior team of President Cellai and directed by Francesco Sarri. Four years after his premature death, his sons Riccardo and Tommaso want to remember him by supporting the creation of this race reserved for the junior category which will take place on the traditional 3,500 km circuit starting at 10 am from via delle Cantine. The laps scheduled on the “Circuito degli Assi” will be 22 for a total of 77 kilometers “This is just a one-day event dedicated to him, but his absence accompanies us every day” this is how his friend Leonardo Gigli wanted to remember him. The Paolo Baicchi Memorial is limited to a maximum of 110 athletes, and at the moment there are 83 junior runners registered.
