CastrumFavara: Totò Catania is the new sports director

Salvatore Catania, 48, from Palma di Montechiaro, is the new sports director of the CastrumFavara team. He is well known in Sicilian and national sports circles for his substantial curriculum in the world of football. Growing up since he was a child in a locker room, always next to his father Gioacchino, historical president of Gattopardo, he knows all the dynamics that revolve around a football organization for having held various roles. Knowledgeable of the various Sicilian football realities, he gained his first experience as a DS in his city at the age of 19, leading his Gattopardo to third place in the Eccellenza standings.

The following year, reconfirmed as sports director, he arrives in Serie D in the promotion history of Gattopardo and, in the first season of the fourth series, immediately obtains a quiet salvation. From 2003 to 2010 the great experience gained as President of the first team of Palma di Montechiaro. He takes over Gattopardo in promotion and leads it to Eccellenza to play 2 regional play off finals. In 2011 he becomes general manager in Licata in Serie D. The following year he arrives in Agrigento.

With Akragas he won the Eccellenza championship and the following year he played in the national play-off final in Serie D. He acquired the license of Sports Management Collaborator by attending federal courses and was registered in the national register of the FIGC. He returned to Agrigento as a sports director in Lega Pro, obtaining 2 salvations. In Coverciano he passed the exam as a professional sports director, discussing the thesis "The technical staff in football". Then the big leap to Serie A in Parma, as an observer in the youth championships alongside Daniele Faggiano. Subsequently he was busy as an observer following many championships around Italy, between Lega Pro, Serie D and youth sectors. Now the appointment in Favara.

At the end of the shareholders' meeting, Asd Castrumfavara has reorganized its organizational chart and is preparing to start the 2025/2026 football season.
