Bra-Livorno 0-1, the Amaranto return to winning ways: Dionisi plays decisively

Livorno, 23 September 2025 - The Amaranto return to winning ways, with the 1-0 victory against Bra for Coach Formisano's team, who can now breathe again after a convincing performance, albeit against a team that was anything but irresistible.

The opening minutes were hard-fought at the Sivori Stadium in Sestri Levante, with Bra approaching with determination in what would be a crucial match for both teams. The first chance, however, fell to the Amaranto, who, in the seventh minute, found themselves near Franzini's goal from a corner. Cioffi headed the ball past Marchesi, but it was no use for the moment.

In the eighth minute, coach Nisticò played the FVS card for a collision in the Amaranto penalty area, but the referee ruled it uncalled. In the 13th minute, after a few chaotic minutes, Hamlili attempted a long-range shot, which beat the Giallorossi defense but went just wide. Another chance for Livorno, who were once again in the opponent's penalty area after just a minute, with Cioffi making a great move, freeing himself from four players and passing to Marchesi, who, however, missed the target.

A frenzied Marchesi earned a penalty in the 17th minute, but coach Nisticò disagreed and gave Fvs a second yellow card. After a lengthy review, however, the referee confirmed his decision, and captain Dionisi stepped up to take the penalty and, at the end of the 20th minute, made it 0-1 for Livorno.

In the following minutes, Coach Formisano's men tried to capitalize on their positive momentum and attacked the opponent's penalty area. In the 24th minute, Coach Formisano called for FVS to intervene following a suspicious contact in the Bra penalty area, but the referee, after reviewing the action, ruled it was unconvincing. Bra attempted to respond in the 28th minute with a free kick on the edge of the penalty area, but Sinani's shot crashed into the Amaranto wall.

The second half of the first half was largely unthreatening for the Amaranto defense, with Bra struggling to maintain possession and create dangerous situations. The Giallorossi fired up in the closing minutes of the first half, but the Amaranto managed to maintain control of the match, ending the first half with a one-goal lead.

The second half reopened with a series of reversals and chances for both sides. In the 54th minute, Ghezzi made a mess of things, but Ciobanu saved with a superb save. In the 60th minute, Dionisi had a great chance, finding himself in front of the opponent's goal thanks to a superb pass from Biondi. However, the Amaranto captain slipped, and the move ended in a stalemate. Livorno then took refuge in good possession, allowing the Giallorossi to run and attempting to create a good opportunity to hurt the home side.

A fantastic move in the 77th minute, with Panioli and Marchesi linking up well, the latter firing a powerful shot, Franzini saving it, but the game was called offside. Another great move for the Amaranto side, with Biondi attempting an overhead kick in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Ciobanu blocked Sinani's header, which had threatened following a corner.

Livorno held firm against Bra's last-gasp attacks, but the latter failed to secure a victory in the closing minutes. The Amaranto, however, secured the three points, finally returning to winning ways after a long losing streak.
