Beach Soccer LND: Lady Terracina wins the Women's Italian Cup Q8

TURIN - The final of the 4th edition of the Coppa Italia Q8 women's beach soccer competition, the FIGC-Lega Nazionale Dilettanti, demonstrated, once again, that this sport deserves a major stage. On the sandy rectangle of the majestic Beach Arena in Castellammare di Stabia, Lady Terracina managed to secure the Italian ribbon for the second year in a row, defeating Cagliari 4-3 in a very close, exciting match, played on every inch of sand. Both teams deserved to lift the trophy, but sport can only have one winner. The Tigrotte replicated their success in the 2024 Cup, taking home the eighth trophy in their long history, which dates back to 2014. It is the seventh consecutive final between two teams that have dominated the last three years of Italian women's beach soccer. The decisive goal was scored midway through the third period by Stephanie Galluccio, who has become accustomed to dominating finals. The two teams chased each other throughout the match with goals from the Spanish Campoy, Fabiana Vecchione (brace), Roberta Illiano, Teresa Penzo and Stephanie Galluccio who hit the back of the net twice, the last one bringing victory to the Pontine team. Cagliari can take comfort in their seventh final appearance in just three years of sporting history, which has already brought them three trophies. This final was the perfect culmination of an engaging and hard-fought Coppa Italia, which showcased the talents of the athletes and the quality of their teams. A perfect showcase for a sport that, in its light-hearted summertime atmosphere, embodies authentic sporting values such as hard work, sacrifice, and determination. But beyond the result, it was the spectacle that won out.
Roberto Desini, coordinator of the FIGC-Lega Nazionale Dilettanti Beach Soccer Department, and Carmine Zigarelli , president of the LND Campania Regional Committee, presented the trophy to the winner. The runner-up received the award from Giuliana Tambaro, Federal Councilor and Vice President of the CR Campania LND, and Annalisa Nuzzo, Councilor of the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia. A tribute to the refereeing trio was presented by Federica Polverino, Loyalty & Customer Engagement Q8, and Rosanna De Simone, Councilor of the CR Campania LND and Councilor of the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia. Emilio Fittipaldi, Councilor of the BS LND Department and Chairman of the CR Basilicata, was also present.
