Man Utd star hits out at 'false' social media claims about 'pregnant wife'

Man Utd star hits out at 'false' social media claims about 'pregnant wife'

Manchester United's Amad Diallo has hit back at a 'false' social media claim that he visited his 'pregnant wife' after Saturday's 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest. The 23-year-old winger scored United's second goal at The City Ground, helping Ruben Amorim's side to secure a point and extend their unbeaten streak to four matches.

Despite heading into the Nottingham match on a three-game winning streak, the Reds had to settle for a draw. After Casemiro put United ahead, Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona turned the tables, putting Forest 2-1 up. However, Amad found the net in the 81st minute, ensuring a point for Amorim's squad.

Following the match, a social media post claimed that Amad had visited his 'pregnant wife', accompanied by two photos. The account, boasting over 33,000 followers, posted: "Amad Diallo visits his pregnant wife after the weekend game. Impossible not to love them [red love heart emoji and goat emoji]."

In response, Amad dismissed the claim and called for respect for his privacy. He retweeted the message, commenting: "Spreading false information will not help you promote your page [cross mark emoji] A bit respect for my privacy."

It was later suggested that one of the photos included in the original tweet was AI-generated, prompting Amad's reaction.

Amad Diallo's first goal of the season for Manchester United came against Nottingham Forest, a feat made all the more impressive considering his deeper role since Bryan Mbeumo's summer arrival.

Despite not being in as many scoring positions, Amad nearly bagged a second late on, only to be denied by a line clearance from Murillo, which could have secured a potential match-winning third goal for the Reds.

United head coach Amorim was full of praise for Amad in his post-match comments. He said: "Amad has a lot of talent, he is growing up really fast. I think we have a lot of players that are young and talented but we need to help in all the details.

"He is improving a lot, he can play in different positions, I think he can be so much better. More consistent in every detail, when he receives the ball, in build-up, when he is in the final third.

"You could see in the first half he had some opportunities. In a lot of games, he has that opportunity coming inside and the shot is not there yet. We are working on that, so he has potential to do better."

The Reds' next match sees them travelling to Tottenham for a Premier League clash on Saturday. Following this, they'll enjoy a two-week break before hosting Everton after the international hiatus.
