The second day of the Sail GP of France in Saint-Tropez is cancelled

The second day of the Sail GP of France in Saint-Tropez is cancelled

A huge disappointment for fans and athletes alike. Yesterday's weather forecast suggested it, but the bad news was confirmed this morning: there will be no second day of racing at the Sail GP de France in Saint-Tropez. The organizers' decision is linked to the safety of launching the F50 catamarans and the unsafe sailing conditions. The department is on orange alert for rain, flooding, and thunderstorms this Saturday, with a risk of hail.

The final ranking is therefore based on the results of the first day of competition yesterday. As a result, the Great Britain crew is crowned champion of the Sail GP of France with 10 points, followed by New Zealand (9 points) and in third place, Spain (8 points). The French team is ranked sixth.

Refunds processed automatically

According to the terms of sale, refunds will be processed automatically within five days (100% for tickets valid only on Saturday, September 13, 50% for Full Weekend Passes (excluding fees), 50% for "Pavillon Plaisanciers" Passes). Spectators are invited to contact the official Sail GP channels for more information.

Julien di Biase, SailGP Operations Director, said in a statement: " The organizers gave themselves every chance until this morning before making this particularly difficult decision. The SailGP teams are disappointed not to have been able to offer the people of Saint-Tropez, the fans present and the partners a second exceptional day of racing like yesterday, but we cannot take any risks. "

The City, for its part, says it " naturally regrets this cancellation, but reiterates that the safety of the crews, spectators and the entire system remains the absolute priority ."
