Strange day for Nice's Jérémie Delbois at the French Championships in Montpellier

A time that lasted only 8 hours, erased in the final by Antoine Viquerat (27''02). A race in which the Côte d'Azur rider only managed 3rd place on Tuesday evening, despite an even better time (27''16).
Lilou Ressencourt isn't the only one shining in the Montpellier pool. Already crowned French 100m breaststroke champion on Saturday evening, Jérémie Delbois came close to repeating his feat in the 50m breaststroke on Tuesday evening.
In the heats this morning, the Olympic Nice Natation member broke the French record with a time of 27.34 seconds. By two hundredths of a second, he beat Giacomo Perez Dortona, who had held it since April 22, 2009.
In the evening, he hoped to go even faster and clinch the title. The competition didn't give him the chance. Despite an improved time (27''16), he didn't secure first place. In a highly competitive event, he finished the final in 3rd position. He was beaten by Antoine Viquerat (Racing Club de France, 27''02, French record) and Pierre Goudeneche (Bordeaux, 27''10).
Mathys Chouchaoui 4th in the 200m backstrokeHis club teammate, Mathys Chouchaoui, finished 4th in the 200m backstroke. In 1:57.41, he achieved the minimum B time (1:58.07) for the Singapore World Championships (July 27-August 3) in a completely crazy race, as the top four achieved the required qualifying time. French champion Yohann Ndoye-Brouard (Annecy, 1:56.38), his runner-up Antoine Harlem (Toulouse, 1:56.52), and third-place finisher Mewen Tomac (Caen, 1:56.83) achieved the minimum A time (1:57.50, for those over 23).
Tomac, the French record holder (1:55.38) and defending champion, who finished 4th at the Paris Olympic Games over this distance last year, will not be competing in the World Championships. Like Chouchaoui, he did not take one of the top two places, the other essential to securing his ticket to the Games, which is a huge surprise.
