Simon Delestre's big flight over Port Hercule at the Monte-Carlo Jumping

It's a first Monegasque victory for Simon Delestre, one of the biggest names in international equestrian sport. A bronze medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and former world number one, the Frenchman won this Saturday, July 5, with a remarkable time of 32.05 seconds, in this stage of the Longines Global Champions Tour.
A supersonic finishOver a technical course at 1.60 meters, Delestre impressed with his speed and precision, particularly in the final straight. He rode Cayman Jolly Jumper, a horse he described after the event as "exceptional" and "one of the fastest" he had ever ridden.
"I've been aiming for this Monaco Grand Prix for a long time," the rider said emotionally. He fully enjoyed his victory during his lap of honour. Harry Charles (Great Britain) took second place, ahead of the Dutch rider Kim Emmen, one of the two riders qualified for the circuit final.
French and Monegasques in the spotlight!
The day had already smiled on the French. In the early evening, Antoine Ermann won the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Trophy - Casino de Monte-Carlo, an event also classified as a CSI 5*. He won in 51.25 seconds with Odin Van't Hanegoor, beating the Dutchman Jur Vrieling by just five hundredths of a second, over a 1.45 meter course.
Earlier, in the Grand Prix Institut Esthederm (CSI 2*), Monegasque rider Kristina Klebanova shone in front of her home crowd. The young rider achieved a clear round in 62.59 seconds on the 1.45m bars, securing a victory that was applauded by the spectators.
