Rape trial demanded against Achraf Hakimi? The prosecution has ruled

The Nanterre prosecutor's office has requested the indictment of Paris Saint-Germain player Achraf Hakimi. The Moroccan is suspected of raping a young woman in 2023.

Achraf Hakimi in turmoil. According to reports from the daily newspaper Le Parisien , the Nanterre prosecutor's office has just requested that the PSG right-back be charged with rape before the Hauts-de-Seine departmental criminal court. It is now up to the investigating judge to confirm or reject the terms of the prosecution's final indictment, signed in July.

The Parisian club's star still disputes these accusations. "This is the first time I've spoken about it publicly with someone. Since it happened, I haven't said anything about it. The truth is, when you're successful and things are going well, you become an easy target for certain people," he confided in an interview broadcast on Anas Burkhash's YouTube channel last January.

"My client welcomes this news with immense relief."

As a reminder, in March 2023, Achraf Hakimi was implicated by a young woman who accused him of raping her the previous Saturday at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt. According to a police source, this young woman indicated that she met Achraf Hakimi in January 2023 on Instagram before going to his home on Saturday. She claims that the player then kissed her on the mouth and breasts without her consent before raping her, according to the words transcribed by Libération at the time. Two years later, the case is still not settled for the Parisian player, who has launched legal proceedings for attempted racketeering against him.

Still according to the player, this case is nothing but a frame-up. And it has "taught him that you can't trust many people around you." "When we put this case in the hands of the justice system, we saw that it was just a way to blackmail me (...) They wanted to blackmail me and that's why we filed a complaint. The justice system handled things rather well, so we are in a process that is going well," he explained, still in January 2023.

It's clear that the Moroccan's situation is not improving. Indeed, the latest submissions from the prosecution before the criminal court seem to be in favor of the accuser, and not the Paris Saint-Germain player. "My client welcomes this news with immense relief," Rachel-Flore Pardo, lawyer for the civil party, told Le Parisien. Achraf Hakimi's lawyer has not yet commented.
