No shield for the RCT, the Toulon Espoirs lose in the final against Bordeaux-Bègles

Led by the brilliant full-back Jon Echegaray, Bordeaux opened the scoring early on with a try by Matéo Lavasele, converted by Louis Warisse (7-0, 7th). Then Lohan Sabbia kept his teammates in the game, kicking three penalties, before UBB took the lead just before half-time through Warisse (10-9).
In the second half, Léo Ametlla's teammates had the opportunity to equalize with their only try scored through Edouard Sabotin-Desclaud (70th). But Sabbia missed the conversion and, in the process, Girondin striker Joseph Laharrague put an end to the Var's last hopes with two penalties (including one from 45m against the posts) despite a final penalty from Sabbia before the siren (22-17).
In the prize list, UBB succeeds Stade Toulousain, winner last year against Castres (26-15).
