Nearly two months after his heart attack during a match, Samuel Nibombe applauded by the AS Monaco professional squad

A big scare, but a situation handled perfectly well. On May 21, Samuel Nibombe was playing in the Challenge Espoirs final against Rennes with the AS Monaco youth team when he collapsed on the pitch.
Quickly taken care of, the young 17-year-old defender was taken to hospital and his club was reassuring in the following days.
"What happened was extraordinary," said Sébastien Muet, director of the training center, at the time. "The union of experts from Rennes and Monaco saved a life, and that's great to see."
"I wanted to thank everyone, I received a lot of support."This Monday evening, the ASEM club shared on its X account (formerly Twitter) a video of the defender who came to greet the professional group at La Turbie, before the players left for England for their pre-season training.
Applauded, Samuel Nibombe said a few words to the audience and expressed his relief, almost two months after his heart attack.
"I wanted to thank everyone. I received a lot of support and it made me happy. It's great to see you all back here and soon on the pitch!" No date for a return to training has been announced, but the recovery process is expected to take time for the Belgian U18 international.
