More than 3,200 runners expected for the 10 km Estérel-Côte d'Azur

More than 3,200 runners expected for the 10 km Estérel-Côte d'Azur

With each new edition of the Estérel-Côte d'Azur 10km, the intercommunal event experiences a significant increase in popularity. Last year, just over 2,000 participants set off at the start of the footrace.

This year, there will be more than 3,200 at the start of the various events.

"This event has become a classic for runners. The setting has something to do with it since the course follows the seaside. Moreover, the race is a qualifier for the 2026 French championship," says the president of the organization, Serge Lopez. Moreover, the national elite is announced at the start, including, among others, a certain Raphaël Montoya, 2025 title holder.

A route conducive to performance

Particularly appreciated for its flat and performance-friendly route, the course designed in 2025 will be repeated with a few adjustments. The event will allow participants to enjoy the entire bay of Fréjus/Saint-Raphaël at the same time. After running along the seafront to Beaurivage in Saint-Raphaël, the runners will return to the finish line at the Nature Base via the Old Port of Saint-Raphaël and Port-Fréjus.

Races for everyone

Several courses are offered: 1km untimed for kids aged 6 to 8, 1 and 2km timed for 9-10 year olds and 11-12 year olds (Departures at 7pm and 7:15pm at the Nature Base). Then, at 8pm, the timed 5km starts at the Esplanade Delayen (Big Wheel) before launching the main race: the timed 10km with inter-company challenge at 8:30pm starting at the Nature Base and finally the untimed 10km open to all at 8:40pm, still at the Nature Base.

Waiter Race

And since the day is dedicated to racing and partying, the starting gun for this edition, which promises to be exceptional, will be fired at 4 p.m. 4 p.m.: Bib collection at the Nature Base and shuttles to Saint-Raphaël. 4:15 p.m.: Flash mob at the start of the girls' and boys' race on Place de Provence in Saint-Raphaël (towards the carousel) with prize-giving around 6:15 p.m. "We are relying on a whole team of volunteers who are doing an extraordinary job for the occasion. There will be nearly 200 of them ensuring logistics and security during the event. The courses will of course be closed to traffic to make way for the athletes and without this precious help, nothing would be possible," the president said.
