The Dutchwoman is unable to keep up with Chabbey and Smulders. She gradually loses ground and sees the peloton approaching.

The Swiss made the effort to reach the top of the Locronan hill, ahead of Smulders and Rijnbeek

The leading trio has a 56-second lead over the peloton 500m from the second climb

The Locronan hill is approaching and the leading trio clearly want to get over this climb first. Chabbey, Smulders and Rijnbeek have a 44-second lead over the peloton.

Elise Chabbey and the Dutchwoman Silke Smulders have a 36-second lead over the peloton. They will soon be caught by Rijnbeek.

Smolders takes the lead on the first mountain climb ahead of Chabbey. She takes the 5 points awarded.

Just before the summit of the Menez Quelerc'h hill, Biannic and Koch were caught by Chabbey and Smolders

After a slowdown due to a fall, the Spaniard Ana Santesteban, leader of the Laboral-Kutxa team, gradually returns to the peloton

German Cofidis rider Clara Koppenburg was dropped by the peloton. She had a very tricky first stage, finishing more than 7 minutes behind the leader.

It was Germany's Koch who won the intermediate sprint ahead of Biannic, earning 25 points for the Green Jersey. In the peloton, Marianne Vos won the sprint for 3rd place.

154 cyclists took the start of the women's Tour de France on Saturday, July 26, 2025, for the 4th edition. From Morbihan to Haute-Savoie, this new edition takes place over 9 days, with one day more than the previous edition. Unsurprisingly, the contenders for overall victory in this Tour will be the top three in the final standings, namely Poland's Kasia Niewiadoma, the Dutch riders Demi Vollering and Pauliena Rooijakkers. But this 2025 edition will be spiced up by Frenchwoman Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, back on the road and hoping to shine on the Grande Boucle. Recent winner of the Giro d'Italia, Elisa Longo Borghini (33 years old) also dreams of achieving the first double in history.

The first two stages are "for the punchers." Then, "we'll have two stages for the sprinters that will take us to Poitiers. And then the mid-mountains will arrive very quickly with the Massif Central, a stage in Clermont-Ferrand, Ambert, Bourg-en-Bresse, Chambéry, and then the high mountains to finish," explained Tour director Marion Rousse.
