Golf. Castle life for Pulnoy

The seven clubs in the Grand Est League barely had time to appreciate the château and the magnificent setting of the former Aube stronghold of the Counts Chaudon de Briail, a property that has become one of the most beautiful golf courses in France. At Troyes La Cordelière, the setting for Group A of the Senior 3 Federal Promotion Championship, the battle lived up to the setting: sumptuous. During the two qualifying rounds, the margins were tiny. Between the leader, Coudray Montceaux, and the 4th-placed Nancy Pulnoy, there was a 5-shot gap! Combles-en-Barrois, a solid sixth, and Épinal, twelfth, also earned the right to compete in the promotion match play, while Nancy Aingeray was left holding out for a breath…

In the play-off, Nancy Pulnoy won both singles matches and shared the doubles against Guérande. Captain Jean-François Prévot, Carmelo Fiorinelli, Sylvain Stegmann, Renaud Guérard, and Robert Herman will therefore play in the 2nd division in 2026. "We suffered under a blazing sun," Robert Herman commented soberly. "A very good atmosphere overall. The course was formidable, with six long and tricky par 3s in particular."
