Gaba still more gold, Duplantis still higher and PSG still stronger: what to remember

Gaba is worth all the gold in the world! After winning Olympic gold at the Paris Olympics in the mixed team competition last summer, Joan-Benjamin Gaba (-73 kg) won the World Championships final this Sunday in Budapest. The 24-year-old Frenchman dominated the Brazilian Daniel Cargnin in the golden score.

. Duplantis, ever higher! The Swede Armand Duplantis cleared 6.28 m on his first attempt in Stockholm on Sunday, thus breaking his twelfth world record in the pole vault.

It was a crazy Sunday for French cycling. For the first time in cycling history, two French riders won a World Tour race on the same day: Romain Grégoire in the first stage of the Tour de Suisse and Lenny Martinez in the eighth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné. Paul Magnier also won in Bruges and claimed the Elfstedenronde.

First win for Russell, McLaren scuttles. Britain's George Russell claimed his first victory of the season on Sunday, winning the Canadian Grand Prix. He finished ahead of Max Verstappen (2nd) and Kimi Antonelli (3rd), while the McLaren drivers collided, forcing Lando Norris to retire.
