Football - Ligue 2. GF38: Diop, Mambo miss... the notes against ASSE

  • Diop (7): The Mauritanian international goalkeeper was decisive against ASSE. While he could do nothing about Nadé's goal, he saved his team from sinking with multiple saves, including an exceptional one against Cardona (51st).

  • Xantippe (5): in his role as a piston, he mainly had to contain Cardona on his side but he was often caught behind him when ASSE accelerated. Replaced by Mion (70th).
  • Mambo (3): A mixed performance from the former Rodez player. He was quite good during the first half hour, but he set up Nadé for the first goal after a gross defensive error in his own area (36th minute) and he regularly caused problems for Duffus.
  • Mouyokolo (4): he was solid in the center of the Grenoble defense, handling the hot spells in front of his box well. But he was sent off late in the match for a second yellow card, which could have cost his team dearly (90th + 6).
  • Paquiez (6): in a match where the GF38 spent his time defending, his aggressiveness was valuable even if he was sometimes at the limit, like on his rough tackle on Jaber where he was warned (45th+1).

  • Delos (6): a full match for him. Well positioned defensively, as on Bernauer's shot (13th), he provided the assist for Diaby's goal with a sublime cross.
  • Benet (5): The Grenoble midfielder ran a lot and tried to limit Jaber's impact. He was rarely seen offensively. Replaced by Bangré (45th).
  • Lele Diba (6): a pivotal midfielder, he also often hampered Saint-Etienne's counterattacks. Booked (11th).
  • Valls (6): willing and also strong in the middle, he also made some small offensive efforts, like this lobbed pass behind the back for Zahui who almost hit the target (32nd).

  • Elphege (6): he weighed on the Saint-Etienne defense with his physique and spared no effort, without creating any chances. Replaced by Sarikaya (90th + 6).
  • Zahui (5): he worked hard on the attacking front but was clumsy. He was the one who missed his one-on-one with Larsonneur on GF's only clear chance in the first half (32nd). Replaced by Diaby (70th), who scored the equalizer on his first opportunity (77th).

At the end of the 4th day of Ligue 2, GF38 went to get a good point at Geoffroy-Guichard against ASSE on Saturday evening (1-1). Here are the ratings of the Grenoble players.
