Basketball: Bensley Joseph, Hyères-Toulon's good pick?

Basketball: Bensley Joseph, Hyères-Toulon's good pick?

Hyères-Toulon announced this Friday that it has signed Bensley Joseph. This 23-year-old combo guard (1-2 position) (1.83m) has real potential, having just completed a very promising university program in the United States.

He first spent three seasons with the Miami Hurricanes, with whom he reached the NCAA Final Four in 2023, scoring eight points in a semifinal loss to the University of Connecticut.

In 2024-2025, this ball carrier played with the Providence Friars, where he was the star player: he averaged 13.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists (for a 13.3 evaluation).

Fifth and final recruit

He therefore came to HTV to launch his professional career in Europe. "It's a project that took three months," sighs the general manager, William Dumas, delighted with this discovery.

Presented as a complete point guard, reliable at 3-point range, capable of attacking the basket and a recognized defender, Bensley Joseph will however be used primarily as a position 2 at HTV.

Born in Miami, he grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. However, due to his mother's origins, he has a Haitian passport, making him a "Cotonou" player.

Joseph is the fifth and final signing of the off-season after Ikenna Ndugba, Jito Kok, Elwin Ndjock and Victor Diallo.
