The performance of the left backs who have arrived at Chivas in recent years

With the arrival of Bryan González to the ranks of Guadalajara, he joins the list of players being signed from other teams to reinforce the red-and-white team's left flank, which has been few due to the position usually occupied by players who emerged at Chivas.

Despite the fact that there are few left backs at Chivas, only one player has made his mark by coming from another team , as the rest have passed through the institution without much success.

Given this situation, EL INFORMADOR recalls the left backs who have joined Guadalajara in the last 20 years and their performances in the red and white jersey.

Christian Calderón

"El Chicote" generated great expectations since his arrival, due to the $8 million paid for him, and also because he arrived at a great moment from Necaxa. His time at Chivas got off to a great start, after starring in the quarterfinals against América in the 2020 Guard1anes Tournament, where he scored a hat trick to eliminate the hated rival.

After eight tournaments with Chivas, he played 111 matches, scoring a total of ten goals and registering eight assists . Among his achievements, he appeared in a league final in the 2023 Clausura Tournament. However, his time at Guadalajara is remembered for multiple disciplinary issues, which forced him to leave the club.

Edwin Hernández

For the 2015 Apertura Tournament, "Aris" joined Guadalajara at the height of his career, following a promotion and a two-time championship with León. The experienced full-back became one of the best signings of recent times and in the club's history.

After seven tournaments with Guadalajara, he played 121 matches, scored seven goals and registered nine assists , in addition to obtaining five titles: 1 Liga MX, 2 Copa MX, 1 Supercopa MX and 1 Concacaf Champions League, becoming one of the most successful footballers in the club's history.

Adrian Cortes

For the 2013 Clausura, Cortés arrived at the request of Marcelo Michel Leaño from Cruz Azul. His time with Guadalajara was brief, as he only played one tournament with the club after registering very little activity, playing only three matches and totaling 239 minutes .
