Teo Gutiérrez after a tough debut: 'It's a setback we didn't expect'

Teófilo Gutiérrez played in his new stage with Junior. He entered in the second period and the Roberto Meléndez stadium in Barranquilla was crazy at that moment.

However, their return was not the best, as the Barranquilla team lost 1-2 to Envigado on the sixth date of the Betplay League.

The forward spoke at the end of the match and was not happy with the result.

"These are things in life, in football, but I'm happy to be back, to be welcomed by the people, my family, and I thank this institution that gave me everything. It's a setback that we didn't expect," he said.

He added: “In the first half we were in a bad position at the back and in the second we tried , the game opened up, but we couldn't find the goal, we are left with the feeling of what we are finding and improving day by day.”

Teo Gutiérrez was direct and spoke in reference to the defeat, to what happened on the field of play.

"We lacked decisiveness and unity, which we had at the end, but it wasn't enough. We can't let important points slip away, but it helped me get into the rhythm. We have to be strong at home and this helps us improve. We have to be calm," he said.

He concluded: “There are some very important matches coming up and this will help us to lift our heads, be in better spirits and remain united to face what is to come.”
