Silvia Borbón: The leader who transforms mothers' lives through self-care

Silvia Borbón: The leader who transforms mothers' lives through self-care

Silvia Borbón has spent the last decade promoting fitness, bodybuilding, and healthy living. But beyond routines and aesthetic results, she's clear on this:

“More than a trainer focusing on how you train, I consider myself a fitness coach focused on why you train and how to maintain it over time.”

With that vision, she has guided dozens of women—mostly mothers—who come seeking well-being, energy, and a way to rediscover themselves. And Silvia doesn't just coach them: she listens to them, supports them, and is inspired.

“Seeing women—especially mothers—committed to their physical well-being means recognizing strength, self-love, and resilience in action.

“It's seeing how, despite their many responsibilities, they choose to prioritize themselves, not just for aesthetics, but for health, energy, and emotional well-being. That fills me with admiration and respect for them and for myself.”

Every mother who has stepped foot in her training center has left a mark. "I've been fortunate enough to share training sessions with friends and colleagues, each with a different story.

“But if there's one thing many of us agree on, it's that exercise goes far beyond a beautiful body: it gives us mental and emotional strength, tools that help us face the challenges of everyday life with more energy and balance.”

FROM THE GYM TO HOME

Silvia has noticed that when a mother trains, her motivation is different. “A mother who trains tends to have a deeper motivation: she does it for her own well-being and that of her family. She trains with intention, is resilient in the face of unexpected events, and becomes an example of self-care for her children.”

However, the path isn't easy. "The main obstacles for mothers to staying active are: lack of time, fatigue, guilt, lack of support, and disorganization in their routine."

Even so, those who manage to persevere often experience a complete transformation. "The most powerful thing about fitness training isn't just what it changes in your body, but what it awakens in your mind.

"It's that moment when, despite the fatigue, you focus, grit your teeth, and do one more rep. It's learning to endure, to never give up, and to discover what you're made of."

“You put yourself first, and that commands respect. And best of all, your family notices. You inspire with your actions, not just your words.”

Two stories have particularly left a mark on her. “I remember the case of Mayra and Ana Silva, who arrived overweight, exhausted, mentally exhausted, and with their self-esteem damaged.

“Today, I see them transformed: more determined, committed, and full of energy. I'm deeply moved knowing that Bodytraining 's mission is taking shape, because we're achieving the most important thing: transforming women's lives!”

The change is also noticeable in the home. “It definitely has a positive impact on those around her: it inspires her children to adopt healthy habits, strengthens her relationship with her partner by sharing goals and activities, and motivates her community by being an example of self-care and well-being.”

As a mother, Silvia also learns every day. “As a coach and mother, I learn from the other moms in the studio about their resilience, their commitment, and how, despite the challenges, they always find time to prioritize themselves.

“They teach you the importance of perseverance and balance, and they inspire me to continue growing, both professionally and in my role as a mother.”

Beatriz Lara García is 60 years old, has three adult children , and has been training consistently with her youngest daughter for nine months.

In Bodytraining, every rep is a victory, and every woman who trains is celebrated for her strength and dedication.

"I've always exercised, but when I saw the ad, I said, 'Right here.' It's helped my physical and mental health a lot. I feel more energetic and motivated," she says.

“In his testimony, a clear and powerful phrase resonates: “There's no age to come and exercise. You'll feel better and reap many benefits at any stage of your life.”

Beyond the physical aspect, Beatriz emphasizes how exercise became her antidote to the anxiety and depression she faced during menopause. “I feel great.”

“That's history now,” she says with a smile. She also speaks of the value of sharing that space with her daughter. “If I don't come, she doesn't want to come either. We motivate each other.”

Every mom who walks through the Bodytraining door finds more than a gym: she discovers a supportive community.

Vanessa , 44, has also found in training a much-needed respite from the daily chaos of being a mother to a 6-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy.

Although she's been active since she was little, she returned to exercise nine months ago when she was encouraged by a group of neighbors. "The atmosphere here is great because we're all women and we support each other," she says.

For her, training not only means taking care of her body, but also taking care of her mind.

$!“This hour is mine,” many of the attendees repeat, like a mantra of empowerment and mental health.

“Since I've been here, I feel less anxious. I have more energy, I argue less, I have more patience,” she says. With conviction, she shares what has become a philosophy for her: “This hour is my hour, it's mine, and I dedicate myself completely to it. I come home with a peace and joy that is passed on to my children.”

WITHOUT GUILT, WITH PURPOSE

And for those mothers who still doubt whether dedicating an hour a day to themselves is right, Silvia has a clear message: “I would tell them that taking that hour for themselves is not selfish, but necessary.

By taking care of yourself, you gain energy and well-being, which makes you a better mother, wife, and woman. That hour is an investment in your health and happiness, and a valuable example for your children.

Mothers of different ages share training, motivations, and goals in a sisterly atmosphere.

When asked about her future dreams, she answers without hesitation: “Bodytraining's wish for the mothers who train at the studio is that they discover their inner strength, feel empowered, and recognize how valuable they are, not only as mothers, but as women who deserve to take care of themselves and prioritize themselves.

“May they find a space to grow, overcome their limits, and bring that well-being to all aspects of their lives.”

And on this Mother's Day, Silvia sums it up with gratitude: "At Bodytraining (her functional training center), we celebrate your dedication, effort, and strength. Thank you for taking care of yourself, for inspiring your family, and for being an example of transformation. We honor you today and always!"
