Self-criticism from the Sevilla dressing room: "We should have held on to the result and we didn't"

Sevilla have just one point against Mallorca. A minor reward for a game in which they were superior and ahead for much of the time. A goal from Kike Salas on the stroke of half-time put his team ahead at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, after a first half full of opportunities for Sevilla. However, Mallorca came out in the second half with a draw in their sights. Arrasate moved pieces and, in the 92nd minute, Valjent equalised the score .
After the match, the players were self-critical in the mixed zone. Loïc Badé was one of them, who acknowledged that the three points were lost due to details: "We did what we had to do, but once again the details in the final minutes killed us. They scored that goal and it hurts because we had worked for it, but we have to think about Saturday now and raise our heads quickly."
"Afterwards, with the 1-0, we knew that the end was going to be difficult. We wanted to hold on. We tried to score the second, but we didn't. We had to hold on to the 1-0 and, in the end, they equalised," he insisted.
The French centre-back did not want to use the refereeing as an excuse: "We should have held on to the result and, in the end, they equalised. If the referee says there was no foul, then there was no foul ."
Asked about the upcoming match in Vallecas, Badé only wants to think about the three points: "We have to be prepared for the next match. We have to improve a few things, we have thirteen games left. Now, let's go for Rayo."
José Ángel Carmona also spoke to the media and maintained his self-critical discourse: "The first half started very well. We deserved to score earlier and we go into the break with an advantage. It is true that we started well in the second half as well, we had opportunities, but in the last ten or fifteen minutes we fell back. They are dangerous in the air and end up scoring."
«It was a very important match because we were in the lead. We also won the goal average; it was more than three points. The dressing room is screwed. A draw in the last minute feels like a defeat»
The 23-year-old youth player already has his mind set on the team's next challenge and the European goal: "Football gives you revenge, and in five days we'll be competing again. We're three points ahead and we're sure to pick ourselves up ."
Carmona also expressed his satisfaction with the goal scored by his fellow youth player Kike Salas: "We youth players are here to help, and the results are there. I'm happy about Kike's goal as if it were mine ."
