Saraperos again hits Charros with offensive power; Kike Conejo celebrates another year with the fans.

With a solid start from Cam Alldred and an offense that responded early, the Saraperos de Saltillo (38-38) defeated the Charros de Jalisco (38-38) 8-4 in the second game of the series, this Saturday at the Francisco I. Madero Stadium. In addition to tying the record of both teams in the Northern Zone, the afternoon was also marked by a special celebration: the birthday of "Kike Conejo" , the club's emblematic mascot.
On the field, JP Martínez opened the scoring with his 13th home run of the year in the first inning. Roberto Ramos then scored on an RBI single by Alex Mejía , and later, Carlos Martínez connected on his sixth home run of the season, driving in two teammates to make it 5-0 in the second inning.
Starter Cam Alldred dominated from the mound, limiting Jalisco's offense in the first five innings, allowing the team to play with ease. JP Martínez drove in another run in the second with a double, and in the bottom of the eighth, Jeferson Morales extended the lead with his third home run of the year, a two-run shot to left-center.

The Charros pulled one back with runs in the third, seventh, and eighth innings, including Donny Sands ' 14th home run, but were unable to avoid defeat. Alldred earned the win, and the series will be decided this Sunday.
Off the diamond, the celebration also extended to the stands. Carlos Montoya , who has played "Kike Conejo" since 1999, celebrated another year as the Saraperos' beloved mascot. Amid the family atmosphere of the stadium, he received displays of affection from the fans.
Originally from Guasave, Sinaloa , Montoya was recently recognized at the Mexican Baseball League Centennial All-Star Game Gala Dinner as one of the longest-serving characters in the circuit to personify a mascot.
“The mascots put on a wholesome, family-friendly, and entertaining show. It's a source of pride to grow alongside generations of fans,” said Montoya , who has been a key part of the atmosphere at the Francisco I. Madero stadium for 27 seasons.
In Carlos ' own words, while the players are the stars of the sporting spectacle, the mascots also contribute by turning each game into a comprehensive experience for families.
Kike Conejo 's celebration was felt in every applause, every photograph, and every laugh shared in the stands. A symbol of identity for the Sarape fans who, like the team, continues to leave their mark season after season.
