Sánchez, happy to return

América midfielder Erick Sánchez has regained his form and was called up for the first time by Javier Aguirre for the September FIFA World Cup, in which Mexico will face Japan and South Korea.

"El Chiquito," who returns after more than a year of absence, assured that he will seek to compete for a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

"We need to have that internal competition that will make us better players and people. We have to make the final list difficult for the coach," he said.

Likewise, he acknowledged that Asian rivals represent a significant challenge for El Tri.
