President of Santa Fe denounces death threats against him and his family: aggressor identified

Following Independiente Santa Fe 's elimination in the preliminary stages of the Copa Libertadores, the club issued a statement announcing the departure of Pablo Peirano as technical director and also denounced a person for death threats via social media.

These threats were directed at the team president, Eduardo Méndez, and his family, according to the text published on X.

The institution also took the opportunity to ask its followers to express their dissatisfaction in a respectful manner and in a way that does not pose a risk to the lives of the people who make up the institution.

In the text published by the sports team itself, Santa Fe thanked the support of the fans who were present during the season until now. However, they exposed the case of the threat to the team's President and his family.

"We welcome criticism and comments as long as they are expressed in a respectful manner," says the part of the statement in which the public denunciation was made.

They later said that the leader was called on his personal cell phone number to threaten him for the sporting results that the institution has shown. This after having lost to Deportes Iquique and losing the possibility of entering the group stage of the Copa Libertadores.

In addition to the threats against Méndez, the club reported that the team president's family was also attacked on social media. They even pointed to a man identified as Andrés Felipe Amador as the person responsible for these latest actions.

According to the report, the man allegedly harassed the leader's family through social media. Santa Fe announced that the incidents had already been formally reported and are being investigated.

Following Santa Fe's poor performance in the Colombian league, in addition to its elimination in the preliminary stages of the Copa Libertadores against the Chilean team Deportes Iquique, the institution decided to dismiss Pablo Peirano and his team.

"We regret that this process has ended, as we consider Professor Peirano to be a person of the house who always showed commitment to the club and interest in helping ," says the first part of the text in which this decision was notified to the general public.

They also revealed that Francisco López and Robinson Zapata will be in charge of the team's technical direction while they study the alternatives to occupy the bench of the cardenal team for the rest of the season. "We will announce his name in due course," they concluded.

Santa Fe has only one win, three draws and one loss in the first five games it has played this season in the Colombian league.
