Pellegrini is the second coach who has achieved the most victories against Getafe

Of the 29 matches that Pellegrini has played against the Madrid team throughout his career, 27 were in the First Division championship and two in the Copa del Rey. In total, the Chilean coach won 18 of the aforementioned occasions while seven of the matches ended in a draw and four in defeat.

"It was a very important victory. Firstly, because we were facing a tough opponent who was on a good run of form. They were a direct rival and the team showed their confidence in these last few games. These are three important points that bring us closer in a league that is very tight to get those European spots," said Pellegrini in a press conference after the match on Sunday.
