In Spain, they say Luis Díaz is less suitable for Barcelona due to 'sporting, social, and economic factors'.

The transfer market continues to revolve around Colombian footballer Luis Díaz, who is on Barcelona's radar as a backup candidate. Meanwhile, the Catalan press is analyzing the factors that favor the signing of Nico Williams over Lucho.
The Catalan club has Nico as their first option, and his signing could be a matter of days or even hours, according to reports in Spain. But if it doesn't happen, Díaz remains an option for Barcelona.

That's why the newspaper Sport analyzes the factors that affect the Colombian regarding Williams, for a possible signing.
"Opting for Nico Williams over Luis Díaz has many advantages. Sporting, social, and also financial, since, to begin with, the Navarrese has a fixed price, while for the Colombian, Liverpool does not want, for the moment, to negotiate with Barça or anyone else. And if they do, they do not intend to let Luis Díaz leave for less than 80 million euros," the newspaper initially states.

But there's more. The outlet analyzes that Williams "is better for Barça in terms of financial fair play and salary cap space. Barça will give the current Athletic player a long-term contract, for six seasons. They can do so because the winger is only 22 years old."

Regarding this contractual aspect, the outlet highlights that the contract the club was willing to offer Luis Díaz was only for four seasons, "taking into account that the Colombian is 28 years old." The issue of Lucho's age once again comes to the fore in this context.
"This circumstance meant that the money owed for him had to be amortized in just four years, resulting in the need to free up more payroll," Sport points out.
Although the newspaper doesn't go into detail on the issue of cohabitation it mentions, it is known that Nico is viewed favorably by some of Barcelona's top figures.
Lucho's last season

Lucho had a spectacular season with Liverpool last season, winning the Premier League, and he is a key player in the squad. Although he has stated that he would be happy to stay at Liverpool, because he feels comfortable there and is well-liked by the fans, the contractual issue will be the deciding factor, as the Colombian is hoping for a move that will put him on par with several of his teammates, other stars of the team.
The possibility of a move to Barcelona peaked when Lucho was with the Colombian national team playing in the World Cup qualifiers last week. However, the topic gradually faded, and the Catalan press has confirmed that the club is putting all its efforts into signing Nico Williams, who is also viewed favorably by the squad.
Lucho was asked at an event in Bogotá whether he would stay at Liverpool: "Of course, of course," he initially told a fan. "Or where?" she insisted. "It's not known yet," the player replied.
