Alianza Lima celebrated the victory against Boca in the Libertadores to the rhythm of Pedro el Escamoso

Alianza Lima achieved one of the most important milestones in its history by eliminating Boca Juniors at La Bombonera on Tuesday, in the second phase of the 2025 Copa Libertadores.
In front of some 54,000 spectators at La Bombonera, the Peruvian team achieved the feat thanks to goalkeeper Guillermo Vizcarra, the best player of the match, who saved Alan Velasco's fifth penalty, after his teammates had scored all five of their shots.
This was Alianza Lima's victory on penalties The Peruvian club, which had won 2-1 in Lima, lost by the same score at La Bombonera, with goals from Miguel Trauco against them in the 5th minute and Kevin Zenón in the 58th. Veteran Argentine striker Hernán Barcos, former Atlético Nacional player, scored Alianza Lima's goal in the 19th minute.
When many in South America took for granted a tie between Boca Juniors and Santa Fe in the third phase of Libertadores, the duel will be between Alianza Lima and Deportes Iquique, who beat Pablo Peirano's team in Techo, also on penalty kicks.
Alianza Lima has already secured, at least, its presence in the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana, if it were to lose against Iquique. However, the team is emboldened to continue advancing in the Libertadores.
Alianza Lima's celebration to the rhythm of Pirulino The celebration was grand and in the locker room, the Alianza Lima players encouraged Gorosito to dance with them.
The song that played in the background is well-known in Colombia: Pirulino, recorded by The Golden Boys in 1965 and composed by maestro Calixto Ochoa.
Pirulino was relaunched in 2001, when it became the soundtrack for one of the most successful soap operas of all time, Pedro el Escamoso, starring Miguel Varoni.
