After some back and forth, it's now confirmed, according to a report: Carlo Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid this summer. His new role is said to already be clear – and so is his successor.

According to a media report, Carlo Ancelotti is leaving Real Madrid early to become Brazil's national football coach. The 65-year-old has signed a contract and will begin on May 26, according to The Athletic.

Alonso is expected to coach Real Madrid at the Club World Cup in the USA, which begins on June 15, according to the Spanish sports newspaper "Marca." There is no official confirmation yet regarding his new job in Madrid.

There have been many rumors and reports recently surrounding Ancelotti's commitment to Brazil. He was actually supposed to coach the Seleção starting last summer, but then opted for Real Madrid. Now he's reportedly also received an offer from Saudi Arabia.

His second term in the Spanish capital began in 2021. The end this summer comes as no surprise after a disappointing season so far.

After winning the Spanish league title and, most importantly, the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund the previous season, Real Madrid were knocked out miserably in the quarterfinals of the Champions League by Arsenal. Ancelotti and Real Madrid lost the Spanish Cup final to FC Barcelona, a loss always felt particularly painful in Madrid.

Ancelotti's new team, the Seleção, has been in a sporting crisis for years and has already lost several coaches. In March, the association parted ways with Dorival Júnior.

Ancelotti, himself a former Italian international, is one of the most successful coaches in football. He has won the Champions League five times – twice with AC Milan and three times with Real Madrid. He has won league titles in all five major European leagues – in Germany in 2017 with FC Bayern – a feat no one had ever achieved before.
