Deutsche Telekom is the first European company to partner with the Orlando Magic. Currently, three German players, Franz and Moritz Wagner and Tristan da Silva, are on the Orlando Magic roster.

Together with the NBA basketball team, Telekom will delight basketball fans in Germany with exclusive content and special experiences. Telekom will have exclusive access to brand and content rights for its platforms, such as weekly recaps and news with special insights, for Germany. Working closely with the Orlando Magic, Telekom aims to expand its community and fan base. Furthermore, Telekom and the Orlando Magic have agreed to work closely together on topics such as technology, innovation, and youth development.

"This transatlantic basketball partnership is a milestone that brings the fascination of the NBA to Germany," says Henning Stiegenroth, Head of Sports & Sponsoring at Deutsche Telekom. "Three German players on the team and enormous fan growth, which we intend to further expand together via our platforms, make this partnership particularly attractive for us at Telekom. Together with the Orlando Magic, we want to take the 'Home of Basketball' to the next level – live, digitally, and with fans on-site."

The NBA partnership with the Orlando Magic underscores the increasing relevance of the German market in global basketball and Telekom's strong commitment as the "Home of Basketball." The offering includes the EuroLeague, the EuroCup, Basketball World and European Championships, and other top games featuring the German national teams, as well as 3x3 World and European Championships and other top 3x3 events. The company also supports Telekom Baskets Bonn and the 3x3 team Baskets Bonn Telekom as main sponsor.

Magic Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships JT McWalters emphasized: "Germany is our fastest-growing fan market. With German players Franz and Moritz Wagner, as well as Tristan da Silva, on our roster and the support of Telekom, we look forward to reaching our fans across the country in authentic and innovative ways."

Also for basketball fans, the partners agreed to build completely renovated courts in city centers in Germany. In addition, youth will improve their basketball skills in joint summer camps with Magic coaches and mascots, or be introduced to the sport through introductory clinics.

As part of the Magenta Moments customer program, Deutsche Telekom offers its customers trips and VIP tickets to Orlando Magic home games. These include exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into an NBA club and meet-and-greets with players. There are also several offers for business customers, including VIP trips to Orlando, technology summits on current trends and innovations, and visits to the Orlando Magic at Deutsche Telekom events.

The first major highlight for fans is the Orlando Magic's "Germany Summer Tour" in July 2025. The tour already stopped at the Telekom Shop Kurfürstendamm in Berlin on July 9. The highlight will be the major Telekom 3x3 Basketball Open Air on July 11 in Bonn, featuring world-class international teams from Germany, the USA, France, and the Netherlands, as well as current world champions and gold medalists from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The summer tour continues on July 12 at the Telekom Shop Marienplatz in Munich. Fans can look forward to visits from Magic legend Ryan Anderson, team mascot STUFF, and interactive formats.
