The World Championships in Athletics begin on Saturday , September 13 , and end on Sunday , September 21, 2025. The 35-kilometer race walk kicks off at 12:30 a.m. CEST. The 4x100-meter relay races conclude on Sunday afternoon CEST (women at 2:06 p.m. and men at 2:20 p.m.).

The next World Athletics Championships after Tokyo 2025 will be held in Beijing in 2027. The next Summer Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles in 2028 .
