Shortly before the official squad announcement, kicker exclusively reported on Said El Mala's first-ever call-up . The 19-year-old from Cologne is one of the rising stars of the current season, in which he has so far made nine Bundesliga appearances (four goals, two assists).

How do you rate El Mala's nomination?

Leroy Sané is included in the squad for the first time this international year. After his transfer from Bayern Munich to Galatasaray Istanbul, Nagelsmann had left the 29-year-old out of the squad twice. Now, the 70-time international has the chance to gain further appearances for the German national team and put himself in contention for a potential World Cup spot.

Malick Thiaw had to wait even longer than Sané for a call-up from Nagelsmann. The 24-year-old center-back last featured in 2023, but after his move from AC Milan to Newcastle United, he is in excellent form and is now returning. The unfortunate victim here: Robin Koch of Eintracht Frankfurt, who is not included in this time's squad.

Besides Koch, Angelo Stiller of VfB Stuttgart is also missing from the 23-man squad for the matches in Luxembourg (November 14, 8:45 p.m.) and against Slovakia (November 17, 8:45 p.m.). The 24-year-old was part of the DFB training camp in both September and October, but only played in one of the four matches.
