Eight new members elected to Kiel Supervisory Board

Eight new members elected to Kiel Supervisory Board

An extraordinary general meeting was held at Holstein Kiel on Friday evening. The new supervisory board was also elected at the meeting. The new nine-member board is now in place.

The appointment of a new member to the supervisory board of Bundesliga relegated club Holstein Kiel became necessary because the term of office of the current supervisory board ends on June 30. With the exception of Dr. Hermann Langness, all current members declined to run for re-election for personal reasons.

In addition to Langness, the election committee had proposed eight other candidates. All nine were elected almost unanimously by the members present, meaning the new committee will begin its work on July 1. Auditors Marco Siegmund and Andreas Raddatz were also confirmed in their positions.

"The process and the associated reappointment of our supervisory board was a good example of how we address a culture of debate and diversity," said KSV President Steffen Schneekloth, who chaired the event, in his closing remarks. "The positive development of our club in recent years is very closely linked to the previous supervisory board." The old board, which also included former soccer player Daniel Jurgeleit and former German national team player Navina Omilade-Jost, "made groundbreaking decisions with calm, unity, and foresight, thus significantly shaping the development of our KSV."

Schneekloth is optimistic that the new supervisory board, which, in addition to Langness, will include Andreas Breitner, Tim Jeschkeit, Niko Müller, Svenja Nefen, Dr. Thorsten Neumann, Dr. Constantin Niemann, Prof. Dr. Thilo Rohlfs, and Torge Steen from July 1, "will pull together in the future and always keep the big picture in mind in the interest of the common good of our club in order to continue to shape Holstein Kiel in a way that is both effective and future-proof."

Holstein Kiel begins preparations for the 2025/26 season on June 20, with the first public training session taking place on June 23. From June 29 to July 9, Kiel will be in training camp in Minnesota (USA).
