Because of Yamal's party scandal – now the Spanish government is also getting involved

The scandal surrounding Lamine Yamal's birthday party has escalated to the next level. The footballer allegedly paid people of short stature and women to attend. Now the Spanish government has spoken out.

Last weekend, FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal celebrated his 18th birthday. And the party was apparently quite something. Guests were required to hand over their cell phones and cameras at the entrance.

Now the extent of the party night is becoming known. Yamal allegedly booked people of short stature for entertainment. According to eyewitnesses, a minibus full of short people pulled up to the party premises. They were apparently hired to entertain the guests, according to a report by "AS."

The ASDD, an association for people with dwarfism, criticized the footballer. "The association condemns the use of people with dwarfism for entertainment purposes at Yamal's celebration and will take legal and public action," the association threatened in a statement.

Regarding a possible lawsuit, the ASDD also stated: "We will not remain silent. We will defend the dignity and rights of our community in all areas and demand accountability so that such acts never happen again."

And now the Spanish government is getting involved. The Ministry of Social Rights in Madrid has asked the Spanish Public Prosecutor's Office to investigate whether the birthday party violated the Disability Act. They also want to examine whether people with disabilities were mocked. The background: In Spain, it has been illegal to hire people of short stature for entertainment since 2022.

Yamal's invitations had already caused a stir in advance. Spanish model Claudia Calvo told "TardeAR" on Telecinco that she had declined the invitation to the party because she was asked to bring twelve other women with her. They were to be selected solely based on their breast size and hair color.
